Design of Bi-level Auto Car Carrier Wagon type ‘BCACB’

A bi-level auto car carrier wagon type ‘BCACB’ has been designed for 265 nos. cars.

Running speed is 80 Kmph, in Loaded & empty conditions.

Freight Throughput

Design & Development of 22.9 t A/L Open Wagon type BOXNHL

First prototype BOXNHL wagon was manufactured and tested. This wagon is tested with 75 Kmph speed in empty condition & 100 Kmph in loaded condition.

Rake throughput increase of 22.25 % over rake of BOXN (CC)

Implemented.

Design & Development of 22.9 t A/L covered wagon type BCNHL

BCNHL is the first all stainless steel covered wagon of 22.9 t axle load.

Rake throughput increase of 4.7-39.5% for different commodities

Design of tank Wagon for LSHS/RFO type ‘BTOH’

Wagon is designed with provision of heating coils & suitable accessories like inlet/outlet valve.

Rake throughput improvement of 44.8%.

Design of Fly ash/ Cement wagon type ‘BCFC’

The rake of this RDSO designed wagon will provide additional carrying capacity of 528t for cement and 239t for Fly Ash in comparison to present cement wagon design.

Standardization of Flooring and Roofing on Railway Stations

Standardization of flooring & roofing material for various categories of stations at different locations has been taken up by a committee comprising of ED/Works, RDSO, CE/Works, N. Railway and S.C. Railway. The recommendations of the committee were submitted to Railway Board after considering suggestions/ comments on the draft recommendations from Railways. Standardization of floorings and finishing at station premises i.e. platform, concourse, portico, circulating area, FOB, waiting halls, retiring rooms, cloak room, toilets etc. has been approved by Board (ME) and circulated to Zonal Railways vide letter No. WKS/WS/05/FS dt. 22.09.2009 for implementation.

Unification of flooring & roofing material for various categories of stations at different locations has been done for Indian Railway.

Design of Ro-Ro Wagon for Universal Operation type “BTRO”

Wagon is design for  those sections which have non-platform lines throughout the route

Useful new traffic e.g. trucks & help in substantial fuel saving

Design of BCNHL wagon with Micro alloyed steel

A new design of covered wagon (BCNHL) using micro alloyed steel has been developed. The new design is expected to result in savings to the tune of Rs 5 Lakh per wagon. Serial production of this wagon has already started.

Design of frameless wagon for petroleum products

A frameless wagon for carrying petroleum products (BTFLN) has been developed with Pay to Tare ratio of 2.35 against 2 of BTPN by achieving reduction in designed Tare Weight by 3.5 Tonnes over BTPN leading to an increase in Rake throughput by 7 %

Design of Bi level auto car wagon BCACBM

A new design of auto car wagon (BCACBM) with twin deck has been developed with reduced cost of construction. All Cars on Indian Roads, including SUVs, can be accommodated in the wagon. A maximum of 318 cars (as against 265 in the earlier design) can be accommodated

Intermodal transport

Road-Railer (Development with M/s Kirloskar Pneumatic Co.)

These trains will have road railer which can be converted into trailer hauled by a truck for pickup and delivery of goods door to door and into normal wagons for moving on rails for covering long distance.

It will mainly carry white goods, automobiles, manufactured goods, perishables, fragile cargo, light bulk, part load, express cargo

Throughpurt Enhancement

Design of 25t axle load Container Wagon ‘BLC25’

Design of 25 t axle load container flat wagon, BLC25, proposed to be utilized for the oscillation trial with the track friendly Bogie has been completed.

Wagon has a standard floor height of 1270 mm, based which is suitable for the Double Stack Container.

Design of 25 t A/L Coal Wagon type ‘BOXN 25’

25 T Wagon suitable for fitment with 25/32.5t track friendly bogie

Throughput increase of 32.6 % over BOXN (20.32t)
