Field Trials
|
| Field units are engaged in following types of tests of rolling stocks:- |
- The Oscillation trials including riding and stability characteristics of coaches, wagons, locomotives & other varieties of rolling stock e.g. cranes, track tamping machines etc.
- Emergency Braking Distance.
- Coupler Force and controllability.
- Rating and Performance of locomotives.
- Stress investigation of prototype shell of coach/wagon.
- Regular track monitoring run.
- Confirmatory oscillograph car runs
- Other tests assigned by various Directorate e.g. ACD trial. Heavy haul trial, tractive effort trial on instrumented bridge etc.

| Lab Test |
i) Fatigue Testing Lab: Stress Investigation and Fatigue test of different structures of rolling stock an fatigue test of different rolling stock components.
ii) Brake Dynamometer Lab: Testing of Brake blocks according to RDSO/UIC standards.
iii) Air Brake Lab: Having facility of testing air brake system of 132 wagons and 30 coaches and EP Assist brake system for 30 coaches. Facility for compressor testing , VCD testing, Distributor Valve testing and Distributor Valve endurance testing facility also exist in this lab. |
